Transitioning Trends: Duster Coats for Winter

Welcome to the “Transitioning Trends” Series. Whether Winter likes it or not, Spring is coming. I don’t know about you but I’m so ready to pack up my sweater arsenal and pull out all my favorite good weather fabrics – chiffons, cottons, and silks. Lately I’ve been shopping  for items that would be great transition styles because who doesn’t love more bang for their buck? In my new series – Transitioning Trends – I show you how I’ve taken trendy pieces from winter to spring with just a few changes!

This week on Transitional Trends we’re talking duster coats. Here in Seattle winter is all about layers. More often than not, you’ll find me bundled up in all black… maybe it reflects my mood? (Seriously, who likes gloomy stormy days for days on end?!) However, just because I love my blacks, doesn’t mean a pop of color can’t happen!

For the winter look, I really wanted my new Shein sunnies and Rosegal pink duster coat to stand out, which is why I went for all black everythang underneath.

What I like about this look is that with one simple addition – the coat – the style goes from boring to trendy. You could wear something like this for work or play and come off as chic. ALSO, real talk: for all those short girls out there, don’t be afraid to rock this trend! I’m 5’3 and felt perfectly chic wearing this trend.
