Welcome to the “Transitioning Trends” Series. Whether Winter likes it or not, Spring is coming. I don’t know about you but I’m so ready to pack up my sweater arsenal and pull out all my favorite good weather fabrics – chiffons, cottons, and silks. Lately I’ve been shopping for items that would be great transition styles because who doesn’t love more bang for their buck? In my new series – Transitioning Trends – I show you how I’ve taken trendy pieces from winter to spring with just a few changes!
This week on Transitioning Trends we’re talking about culottes. I’ve been on the fence about this trend for a while. For one it brings me back to my middle school days where all the girls wore the much less fashionable synthetic stretchy version. For another, I’m 5’3 and unfortunately the fashion world has yet to acknowledge people of my size.
When I saw this pair on the Shop Rollick site, I was already envisioning the winter to spring to SUMMER transition and felt like it was a definite must. They’re so comfortable that they basically feel like PJs, and the bow in the front elevates the look.
Earlier this week I showed you how I dressed them up for winter. Now let’s talk spring.
When putting together this spring look, I was thinking day at the lake or morning at the farmer’s market. The white tennies felt “practical” while the tucked in off the shoulder blouse was a little more dressy. I decided to go with a tan clutch so that the look was more effortless and less planned. It’s crazy to think how a few accessories can make a trendy piece go from winter to spring!
The culottes would also be cute with a cropped chiffon blouse, a tucked in tank top, or fitted halter top. Shoe wise, I think mules, sandals, or a wedge would be super cute!
Which culotte look was your favorite? Winter or Spring?
